‘Slugs and Snails’ is the alter ego of a ‘full time mother, part-time teacher and when-time-allows, artist”.
Louise lives in a small village in the heart of Cambridgeshire. She loves spending family time with her young son and together they are always out and about exploring new things.
She started her creative career as a card maker, evolving to scrapbooking and has now developed an interest in mixed media and loves working on large canvas pieces. She loves being able to start with a blank canvas and create something beautiful from nothing.
Never one to be stuck on one genre for very long she takes inspiration from other artists and designers from around the world, but still manages to develop her own unique style. Her work is full of colour, textures and light and the main inspiration comes from nature and the environment around her – a true reflection of how she views life in general.
As an artist who is always looking for new challenges, she welcomes commissions for cards, journals or paintings.
Not only is Louise a talented artist, she also makes a Fen-tastic chocolate cheesecake brownie, which is legendary in its own right.
Meet her at the Peterborough Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair on the 21st November 2009. You can also visit her folksy store.
