Made by Artisans is delighted to feature Ruby Wren Designs.
Hayley started making cards while she was in school. Her passion for card design was discovered during her A-Level Fine Art studies, when she found herself being drawn towards illustrations and greeting card artists rather than the traditional fine artists.
Over the years she has developed her own unqiue style and technique and is now a strong advocate of using recycled and evironmentally friendly materials. The cards in the RubyRecycled range are all made from ‘Elliepoo’. A paper making process that derives from using elephant poo. She loves the idea of using such a natural and sustainable source and the textured raw nature of the paper really suits her designs.
Hayley finds inspiration in nature outside her window and her love of animals. Her cards are all designed with the environment in mind and feature images of animal in various forms. She also finds great inspiration from other designers and artists around the world and enjoys seeing their work.
She is currently developing a new series of cards which feature pain-staking hand-cut designs, using clean contemporary shapes, colours and patterns.
Hayley is based in Kettering, Northamptionshire. She also designs and makes a range of jewellery. She loves being creative, whether it is with her photography or web design.
A self-confessed lover of cakes, Hayley admits that there hasn’t been a cake she has met that she has not liked. Clearly not only talented, but also has great taste in food!
